'Tapasya", oil and mixed media on linen, 50 x 1210 x 3.5cm framed
"Tapasya" is a sanskrit word meaning 'burning' and references the ritual of building heat in the body to achieve higher states of consciousness.
This work calls attention to the inner planes of awareness and the subtle shifts that occur during meditation. It also invokes a connection with the natural world through the inclusion of dried plant seeds and fragments placed rhythmically throughout the artwork.
This is new work.
